Haji 1430H/2009

Everything started on saturday, Abah got calls from Tabung Haji saying that Abah and Umi's departure will be on Tuesday - the coming tuesday - which means another 3 days and they ask Abah to get the details of the flight at Tabung Haji Seremban on Monday. When Umi called again Seremban, KL and Kelana Jaya, nobody knew anything regarding the call. In their record Abah's name is not in their list!!

Anyway we insisted Abah to get ready and on Monday, Abah went to TH Seremban and - confirmed - Abah and Umi's name is going to depart on flight on 27 October 2009 - 3pm and must be check in at Kelana Jaya around 11 am and is advisable to be in Kelana Jaya 2 hours before check in. WOW that is suprising!! We have planned to buat kenduri on the 30th October.. Now abah's going for Haj on Tuesday - one day after confirmation. Have to change plan then. We immidiately called Lina, Zakry and all other relative. We then prepare things to cook for small majlis doa selamat at Surau while a small makan makan with our Family at home. That monday lunch, Abang cook 'Pari masak Asam Pedas" with Pari he caught the night before. ( I plan to write that entri afterwards). He then made Mee Goreng for Surau that night.

Lina and Zack reached home from Trengganu at around 5 or 6 pm. They surely look very tired. Anyway only Pak Lang & Pak Teh's family came that night.

The next morning was havoc!! Since Aleeya final exam started on tuesday, I can't stay at Abah's place. Sent Aleeya early in the morning, by 7.20 we already reached Abah's house. But there infront of Abah's house there were a lot of people, mostly were Pak Hamid's family ( Pak Hamid is the old man who went with Abah and Umi) and the rest is orang kampung paid last visit before Abah' s journey. Thank God, Lina was there she woke up around 3 to start made Nasi Lemak and Nasi Goreng. Poor her. If only I didn't came out with the idea!! I did called at 5.30 am to ask if there's anything we can help from our house. She seemed to have everything under control!! I love you my dear sis.

So at around 7.40 after Pak Imam baca doa and someone azan, we drove to Klana Jaya and arrived at around 9am. We waited and waited ( I don't know why they asked us to come so early) at last around 11.30 They called all the congregation to register inside the building which means they are ready to bring them to the Airport from there. And there is also the last check point that we the family can sent them. May they obtain Haji mabrur. Amin.

Dah siap dah my kon ke'

That is what Firas utter in one fine day after he has finished his chinese homework. Mixture of the three languages he uses/exposes. I and my husband look at one another - not out of confuse but more on talking silently with each other something like ' look at our son's language he is real something! ' Semenjak dua menjak ni he uses a lot of that kind of sentences.

Is it acceptable to mix 3 languages in one sentence? Especially from 4 years old boy! I just worry that he will not be able to express himself correctly. For me he really talks a lot. Sometimes he really makes our jaws open when he start talking.

Anyway, right now he still comfortable to converse in BM. Some time I wish my little son never will grow up.

Open House

On 9th October, we at Huzaini & Co. decided to do open house at my house. It was friday. So early in the morning the whole Huzaini & Co's staff came and start cooking. It was gotong royong!

We choose to make laksa, lontong, and ayam masak sambal ourself. As in the picture Meena incharge of the laksa ( and it turns out very very delicious!!), Apis and Zuha fried the chicken to make the sambal which a bit pedas, and all the trainees in charge of potong memotong..

When the first guest came at around 2.30pm every thing was ready on the table.

Glenn Doman

It's been almost a month since I start Glenn Doman read and math with Ariesya. Frankly speaking I really don't know what I am doing and why I'm doing it!! Ariesya is so playful, everytime when I start taking out the flashcard especially on the reading part, she start playing peek a boo with me! Never really look at it. But the book says I should continue showing the cards to her. Baby's memory is like a sponge. They will absorb everything that is given to her. I hope Glenn Doman is right.

Hari ni, buat yang entah berapa kalinya Mahadi merungut lagi minta saya berbahasa Inggeris dirumah. Dulu saya yang sibuk berkhutbah yang kami mesti buat anak-anak bercakap Inggeris dirumah, caranya siapa nak bercakap dengan ayah mesti berbahasa melayu dan dengan ibu berbahasa Inggeris. Tapi azamnya tak lama. Lidah ni dah biasa bercakap melayu. Tapi saya sedar, waktu anak-anak masih kecil inilah kita patut pupuk tabiaat itu. Nak belajar apa apa bahasa pun mesti baca, tulis, dengar dan cakap. English bagi saya 3 yang pertama, memang tak ada masalah, tapi cakap....

Anyway, a journey start with a first step. So saya dah buat keputusan, untuk membiasakan diri saya untuk bercakap in English, saya akan juga membiasakan diri ini untuk menulis in English.

I've read somewhere that, after reading, one level up in literacy is writing. Here I go....

Again for me it is up to us to make a right choice. What I want my children to be? One of it is for them not to have any language problem be it in BM or BI or even in Chinese. Coz there lies their self confident and self esteem. May Allah bless me and my family.

Raya 2

BerHari Raya di Felda Air Tawar 1 di Kota Tinggi memang meriah. Tapi bila di fikir-fikirkan semula kita yang membuat ia meriah. Bagi saya di Johor lebih meriah berbanding Seremban sebab adik beradik Mahadi ramai.

Mereka berlapan beradik, semua kecuali seorang sudah berumah tangga. Kami berpakat untuk beraya disana serentak, tahun depan raya pertama akan sunyilah rumah. Keluarga kami sahaja- (Along 6 orang, Ngah- 51/2, saya - 6 orang, Jamil - 5 orang, Ajib - 5 orang, Ana - 4 orang, Manan - 4 orang , Anja ) - semua adik beradik dan keluarga berjumlah 381/2 orang dah cukup untuk memeriahkan satu blok disana.

Bila kami mula berjalan kerumah jiran-jiran, memang meriah. satu blok terasa bahangnya sebab kami memang bising. Makanya ramailah yang mengikut dan secara tak langsung bermulalah Marhaban. Dulu Marhaban memang dibuat setiap tahun tetapi sejak beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini Marhaban cuma 2 tahun sekali iaitu bila keluarga kami berkumpul di Pagi 1 hari raya.

Pilihan ditangan kita...
